‘A Translator’ and ‘Eternal Winter’ to go on screen in Fajrfest

‘A Translator’ and ‘Eternal Winter’ are to go on screen at the 37th Fajr International Film Festival.

Features ‘A Translator’ and ‘Eternal Winter’ have been selected to go on screen at the 37th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) in Iran.

Co-directed by Rodrigo Barriuso and Sebastián Barriuso,  ‘A Translator’ is the story of a Russian professor who is ordered to work as a translator for the children who are victims of Chernobyl nuclear disaster and are sent to Cuba for medical treatment. The professor builds an emotional connection with the children and his life goes through some changes.

This Cuban-Canadian drama won the best film director award at Shanghai Film Festival in 2018.

Directed by Attila Szasz, ‘Eternal Winter’ is about the Hungarian victims who were sent to Soviet labor camps in 1944. The film focuses on the life of one of the women who is sent to Soviet labor camps.

This film won the best director award at The Montreal World Film Festival in 2018.

14 international and 4 Iranian films will go on screen in the 37th edition of FIFF. The festival is slated for April 18-26, 2019. Since its establishment in 1982, the festival has played vital roles in the development of Iranian Cinema.
